Dissident Project a Finalist for Gregor G. Peterson Prize

We are thrilled to announce that the Dissident Project has been selected as a finalist for the Gregor G. Peterson Prize in Venture Philanthropy, a $250,000 annual award given to a "trailblazing start-up in the non-profit sector." We are competing against just six nonprofits across the United States for the grand prize. Regardless of who wins, this is a tremendous honor.

The Dissident Project is a speakers bureau launched by Young Voices empowering U.S. immigrants who escaped tyrannical regimes to share their stories with high school audiences across the country. With one school year under our belt, the Project has already delivered 46 talks to a cumulative audience of over 11,000.

The Project's big vision is to be the freedom alternative to the 1619 Project, instilling in future generations a sense of appreciation for the prosperity and opportunity we enjoy in the United States.

The Project has big plans for the fall, including a national high school essay contest about the importance of freedom. In the meantime, we are honored to be selected as a finalist for the Peterson Prize!
